The Director of Data Engineering & Integrations role is responsible for building and leading the team that will build and operate the pipelines and integrations necessary to deliver trusted business metrics and insights to our leaders and employees.

This work will be done in close partnership with Business Systems teams, our sibling Data Engineering team, and the Business Intelligence (BI) team within BizOps. Leaders who will excel in this role are able to craft a vision and strategy for Business Data & Integrations, which they will build in concert with our business partners. They are empathetic towards and supportive of the team, taking the time to coach individual engineers and engineering managers as the team grows, and are inquisitive about the data and analytics journey at a high-growth company. The ideal leader for this team leads with people first - whether that means a focus on the UX for data experiences that we are crafting or the individuals on the team and their well-being and career growth. 

This role is open to remote candidates in the United States, with a preference for New York-based candidates who will join the team in our HQ.

Partnering with your peers and business partners, you have built and delivered a Business Data roadmap that delivers scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and trusted insights to the company
You and your team have built trust in our Business Data through the building of a data catalog, definition of a clear data architecture, and both the implementation and enforcement of policies around data security, handling, and retention 
Your team has made an impact through reducing the time and manual overhead needed to relay insights to business leaders
Your team has substantially reduced manual effort across the company through automated business workflows built on a standard enterprise integration platform. This will come in the form of both backend systems automation and user-facing applications. 
You have hired and developed the engineers required to deliver on your roadmap, with a focus on adaptivity, resilience, and diversity 
A background like this helps: 

Demonstrated experience in roles of similar scope, preferably within technology companies
Experience leading efforts to implement Master Data Management (MDM), enterprise analytics in a SaaS company, and developing enterprise application integration strategies
Experience managing teams who have built user-facing applications to reduce manual overhead using low-code platforms
Background building around cloud-native environments and SaaS technologies
Previous experience managing distributed/remote teams

We are hiring ZK Compiler Engineer for OpenZL (https://github.com/openzklib/openzl/blob/main/proposal.md).

OpenZL is a suite of software tools for building ZK applications. At its core sits ECLAIR, the circuit description language, which allows developers to build proof-system agnostic applications and leverage custom optimizations at any level of their program. ECLAIR is an embedded domain specific language in Rust and features procedural macros heavily in its design to reduce boilerplate and create generic code. OpenZL also features backends for cryptographic libraries that implement ZK proof systems, and other cryptographic protocols that plug into ECLAIR. Building these macros and cryptographic backends requires advanced knowledge and experience with the Rust compiler and its macro ecosystem but also experience with generics, traits, and the best-practices of Rust interface design to make all of these pieces work together.

Who You Are
Demonstrated experience in language design, compiler/runtime architecture
Solid background in programing language theory and practice, i.e. understanding static analysis, abstract interpretation, etc.
Understanding of foundational Cryptography, a.k.a. encryption, signature schemes, key encapsulation, and key exchange
(plus) Familiarity with zero-knowledge-proof cryptography, understanding of popular constructions like Groth16, Plonk, Halo2, or Nova
(plus) Experience with formal verification, SMT solvers

What You’ll Be Working On
Design and implement a significant part of the compiler from front-end language to Intermediate Representation to zero-knowledge-proof circuit
Design and implement the Embedded DSL (ECLAIR) for zero-knowledge-proof circuit description in Rust (using procedural macros)
Design and implement compilation passes for ECLAIR including optimization and measurement tools
Building syntax and developer tooling for this macro language

Requirements

What we are looking for in candidates
6+ years of experience in building sophisticated, performant and scalable web applications,
track record of being a team mentor,
being passionate about what you do,
readiness to work in a rapidly scaling up startup,
experience with building embeddable widgets, implementing payment providers and working with iframes is a big plus,
outcome over output approach,
experience with performance and accessibility is nice to have.

Our codebase is written almost entirely in TypeScript, so thumbs up if you're familiar with it (and if not, get familiar, it's brilliant!). JavaScript also works for us.
